Terms and Conditions for the use of eCert

These terms and conditions should be read in conjunction with the eCert website privacy policy (https://ecert.sgs.com/uk/privacy).

LEGAL NOTICE

THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS APPLY TO THE ENTIRE CONTENTS OF THIS WEBSITE UNDER THE DOMAIN NAME  ecert.sgs.com ("eCert") AND TO ANY CORRESPONDENCE BETWEEN SGS UNITED KINGDOM LIMITED ("SGS") AND YOU. USING THIS WEBSITE INDICATES THAT YOU ACCEPT THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. IF YOU DO NOT ACCEPT THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS YOU MUST LEAVE THIS SITE IMMEDIATELY.

Certified Documents

The issue of any certified document may be governed by a Formal Undertaking or be bound by Standard Rules which must be signed before issue of the certified document. By using eCert to apply for certified documents, you are confirming that these have been signed by your organisation and that you accept the terms and conditions of any formal undertaking and Standard Rules.

eCert

eCert is a Web based application which enables certified documents to be applied for online.

eCert eXpress

eCert eXpress enables certified documents to be stamped and signed electronically and printed out at the applicant’s premises.

It is most important to remember: By clicking the link to use eCert eXpress, you will produce certified documents which will contain an electronically created certification stamp. BCC and the issuing Chamber of Commerce ("Chamber") cannot be held responsible for any problems encountered when the document is presented at overseas customs or to any organisation requiring a certified document.

Exporters will specify a Certificate Number for each application. The Certificate Number will then appear both at the top of the certified document and be replicated within the stamp on the original and each subsequent copy, when the certificate is returned to them by the Chamber.

When documents are spoilt because of printer errors etc, they should notify the Chamber of their problem, copy the original application and put a new certificate number into the system to make a second application. Exporters must return all spoilt documents to the Chamber.
